UNTIL DEATH DO WE PART

NASHREEN & TARIQ

As Muslim Weddings (Muslim Arab, South Asian Muslim Culture) go, the wedding of Nashreen and Tariq radiated that extra bit of sparkle. I think it's because their names sort of have that Bonny and Clyde, Cleopatra and Anthony and Layla and Majnoon ring to it. There wedding was absolutely magic. There were horses and carriages, masks and props, picnic baskets and guitars, fox stoles, a just-got-married suite case and a 6 luxury cars parade, all of which added that aura of elegance and opulence. Nashreen's wedding dresses were more than stunning which served to accentuate her very infectious smile. Tariq is a really nice guy, easy going and dressed to kill with his groomsmen to compliment his every move. He wowed Nashreen throughout the day and even serenaded her with guitar in hand. The love they have for one another beamed from their faces and all their guests as witnesses.

There was more than sufficient to eat and I'm sure some guests packed-on a few extra kilograms and carted lots of food home with them. Nashreen's wedding rings were to marvel at, a brilliant quarter carat diamond set  in white gold with matching wedding band that complimented her white gold earrings and her white gold and diamond studded necklace. I'm certain she was the envy of every bride-to-be that attended. These are but a few of the 600 photographs that characterizes their wedding as extra ordinary. For anyone planning a wedding, it was the spectacle to see because wedding dress ideas, catering ideas and jewelry ideas were abundant. Their new home was absolutely quaint and bore testimony of what a man would do when he really loves a woman. The few photos degraded low resolution  below cannot begin to do justice to their wedding celebration because it was a sight for sore eyes.

MUSLIM WEDDING - IZZUDDIEN AND ANEESAH

IZZUDDIEN AND ANEESAH

This is just one of the hundreds of Muslim Weddings I photographed.  The Wedding of Izzuddien and Aneesah  was like no other. It took place at the only "6 Star Hotel" in the Waterfront in Cape Town called "The One And Only".  It was a really a gorgeous Wedding Day and what a Wedding it was!

Aneesah wore  a cream morning Wedding gown just too beautiful for words. Her boutique of orange roses contrasted so beautifully with the gold trim in the dress and the glitter of the tiara.  Her Wedding Dress or afternoon dress was snow white but the only dwarves present were her miniature bride and groom. Her Wedding Dress was really a piece of art. The glass beading and embroidery just made it look so stunning. She had a pink boutique of roses to augment her dress but Aneesah didn't need any of this to enhance her beauty. She made a very beautiful bride indeed.

Izzuddien her husband wore a Tuxedo which stood out from that of his bestmen. For his Nikkah he wore a white thaub and fez and her looked so different.  At breakfast Izzuddien placed a very stunning wedding band and solitaire diamond ring Aneesah's her finger. The centre diamond was bigger than one caret and the Wedding band probably housed another half caret divided into several small stone. Her drops on her ears matched perfectly with her rings and I could almost swear they must were also diamonds of the same calibre.

Breakfast was stunning and there was so much to eat amongst which were Samosas and Badjas, Half moons, Pies and Pizzaz, Spiced beef rolls and cheese rolls, Koeksisters and Naan, coffee, tea and beverages of every kind. The colour coding of the entire Wedding was unmatched as can be seen below. The orange roses matched the orange serviettes. The pink chocolate cake matched the pink rose boutique,   the pink stage draping as well as the pink table decorations and the bridesmaids dresses. The reception started with a duah (prayer) by one of the elders followed by Qiraat (melodious recitation from memory) by one of the Huffadh (preservers of the Qur'an).

Lunch was amazing. the foods were extremely tasty and the variety enormous. It was more than obvious that a whole lot of planning went into getting this Wedding to be be what is was. I take my hat off to Aneesah and say three cheers to her and her husband.

WEDDING DAY- AN AUSPICIOUS OCCASSION

If you have just stumbled upon my Wedding blog for the first time, I recommend that you start viewing from  "Wedding bells are Ringing" in order to get a good impression of what Wedding photography is all about, especially if you are a bride to be, or even just the girl next door.

Weddings are really cool, especially if you're invited, since your invitation entitles you to a treat by the wedding couple because you special, be you family or just a friend. Depending on the affluence of the occasion depends on the size of your treat. This could mean Breakfast, Lunch and Super including dessert, cake and coffee and could take up your entire day or at times this could mean a visit to the local court as a witness and meeting at a coffee shop afterwards. However, this invitation often come at a cost to you in the form of a wedding gift and even though it is not absolutely necessary, one normally feel obliged to buy one. Often times with Muslim Weddings, the bride and the groom have separate receptions and normally the procedure is that after the Nikkah takes place at a mosque which is only attended by males, a breakfast is hosted for them . Here you can get to see the bride in her morning Wedding Dress and the groom and his best-men in there best attire - in most cases,  three piece tuxedos and ties each wearing a pair of elegant shoes to match.

Normally the brides meets with the groom at this breakfast since they are now married to exchange Expensive Diamond Studded Rings  and wedding bands. Jewelry could range from just gold or platinum rings to gold wrist watches to gold arm chains to gold tiepins to gold earring and gold bangles. If you know your jewelry, this occasion is a treat in self.  Diamonds are a girls best friend and on this day, one just cannot help but notice how many times the bride looks at that gorgeous rock on her finger that she received. (See the worlds most expensive engagement ring)
