Bridal Couple - Amyaaz & Rizqa

Arderne Gardens Claremont

The wedding of bridal couple - Amyaaz & Rizqa was a very quaint affair. Lots of family, uncles, aunts, parents and cousins, lots friends, lots to eat and lots to drink. However when it came to the photographs the couple wanted pics without the rest of the family, especially since it was their wedding. That's exactly as it should be, considering it's their wedding album. No frivolous uncles and aunts with their obtuse attitudes who wants to be in each and every photograph, because either the bride or groom is their favourite niece or nephew. Nor those pesky cousins with the expensive cellphone with it's multi megapixel cameras who constantly jump or step in infront of the photographer just as her flash goes off to take that very special shot. As the old adage goes, you can choose your friends but you cannot choose your family.

Amyaaz & Rizqa had a really nice day for their wedding, not to much sun neither too overcast. Her wedding dress was a marvel with the bead work to die for. Together they made a very cute couple but not as cute as that amazing diamond ring. I may be wrong but they are probably the youngest couple we have shot todate.

MUSLIM WEDDING - MUHAMMAD AND AYESHA

Muhammad and Ayesha wedding took place about a year or two ago or perhaps a little longer. It is one of my stock weddings that I pulled out from amongst the hoards of other Wedding photographs that I have yet to share with you. Ayesha made an absolutely gorgeous bride, in fact the entire Wedding was a gorgeous affair.

Ayesha had both a morning and afternoon Wedding dress, the one more beautiful than the other with designer bead-work and intricacies unimaginable. all hand made. The sequence of events of this wedding was much like any other Muslim wedding. After the Nikkah, (the Muslim marriage ceremony) a breakfast is hosted for the men but often times women also attend. It is at this breakfast that the groom comes to meet his bride or rather his wife for the first time, to place a diamond ring on her finger. Here his wife gets to meet her husband's male relatives among which are maternal and paternal uncles,  the close cousins and even his best friends and work colleagues.  Here she also meets with her male family members who informs her that they are witnesses to their marriage ceremony and that they are now married.

The wedding rings they exchanges were magnificent but her designer shoes were one of a kind. Her and diamond ring  and the fleet of  flashy German designed automobiles were to die for. Ayesha has an unforgettable smile and really made a beautiful bride. As can be seen in the photographs below, she had large retenue and and even larger guest list. Photographs were taken at numerous locations amongst which is Cape Town Company Gardens and Sea Point Pavillion.

MUSLIM WEDDING - IZZUDDIEN AND ANEESAH

IZZUDDIEN AND ANEESAH

This is just one of the hundreds of Muslim Weddings I photographed.  The Wedding of Izzuddien and Aneesah  was like no other. It took place at the only "6 Star Hotel" in the Waterfront in Cape Town called "The One And Only".  It was a really a gorgeous Wedding Day and what a Wedding it was!

Aneesah wore  a cream morning Wedding gown just too beautiful for words. Her boutique of orange roses contrasted so beautifully with the gold trim in the dress and the glitter of the tiara.  Her Wedding Dress or afternoon dress was snow white but the only dwarves present were her miniature bride and groom. Her Wedding Dress was really a piece of art. The glass beading and embroidery just made it look so stunning. She had a pink boutique of roses to augment her dress but Aneesah didn't need any of this to enhance her beauty. She made a very beautiful bride indeed.

Izzuddien her husband wore a Tuxedo which stood out from that of his bestmen. For his Nikkah he wore a white thaub and fez and her looked so different.  At breakfast Izzuddien placed a very stunning wedding band and solitaire diamond ring Aneesah's her finger. The centre diamond was bigger than one caret and the Wedding band probably housed another half caret divided into several small stone. Her drops on her ears matched perfectly with her rings and I could almost swear they must were also diamonds of the same calibre.

Breakfast was stunning and there was so much to eat amongst which were Samosas and Badjas, Half moons, Pies and Pizzaz, Spiced beef rolls and cheese rolls, Koeksisters and Naan, coffee, tea and beverages of every kind. The colour coding of the entire Wedding was unmatched as can be seen below. The orange roses matched the orange serviettes. The pink chocolate cake matched the pink rose boutique,   the pink stage draping as well as the pink table decorations and the bridesmaids dresses. The reception started with a duah (prayer) by one of the elders followed by Qiraat (melodious recitation from memory) by one of the Huffadh (preservers of the Qur'an).

Lunch was amazing. the foods were extremely tasty and the variety enormous. It was more than obvious that a whole lot of planning went into getting this Wedding to be be what is was. I take my hat off to Aneesah and say three cheers to her and her husband.
