MUSLIM WEDDING - IZZUDDIEN AND ANEESAH

IZZUDDIEN AND ANEESAH

This is just one of the hundreds of Muslim Weddings I photographed.  The Wedding of Izzuddien and Aneesah  was like no other. It took place at the only "6 Star Hotel" in the Waterfront in Cape Town called "The One And Only".  It was a really a gorgeous Wedding Day and what a Wedding it was!

Aneesah wore  a cream morning Wedding gown just too beautiful for words. Her boutique of orange roses contrasted so beautifully with the gold trim in the dress and the glitter of the tiara.  Her Wedding Dress or afternoon dress was snow white but the only dwarves present were her miniature bride and groom. Her Wedding Dress was really a piece of art. The glass beading and embroidery just made it look so stunning. She had a pink boutique of roses to augment her dress but Aneesah didn't need any of this to enhance her beauty. She made a very beautiful bride indeed.

Izzuddien her husband wore a Tuxedo which stood out from that of his bestmen. For his Nikkah he wore a white thaub and fez and her looked so different.  At breakfast Izzuddien placed a very stunning wedding band and solitaire diamond ring Aneesah's her finger. The centre diamond was bigger than one caret and the Wedding band probably housed another half caret divided into several small stone. Her drops on her ears matched perfectly with her rings and I could almost swear they must were also diamonds of the same calibre.

Breakfast was stunning and there was so much to eat amongst which were Samosas and Badjas, Half moons, Pies and Pizzaz, Spiced beef rolls and cheese rolls, Koeksisters and Naan, coffee, tea and beverages of every kind. The colour coding of the entire Wedding was unmatched as can be seen below. The orange roses matched the orange serviettes. The pink chocolate cake matched the pink rose boutique,   the pink stage draping as well as the pink table decorations and the bridesmaids dresses. The reception started with a duah (prayer) by one of the elders followed by Qiraat (melodious recitation from memory) by one of the Huffadh (preservers of the Qur'an).

Lunch was amazing. the foods were extremely tasty and the variety enormous. It was more than obvious that a whole lot of planning went into getting this Wedding to be be what is was. I take my hat off to Aneesah and say three cheers to her and her husband.

ESTHER AND ALFONSO - WEDDING DAY IN TYGERBERG HILLS.

ESTHER AND ALFONSO

The Wedding of Ester and Alfonso was the kind of Wedding encountered in fairy tales. It was really wonderful and I think that the wedding photographs below hold testimony to the fact. The Wedding ceremony was held in a dungeon of a castle or at least a venue that resembled one situated high-up in the hills far away from the common people.

The view from up there was quite spectacular. The silence was deafening  and it was very fitting to the occasion. Table Mountain in its full glory stands clearly visible on the horizon as witness to their vows, while the hills in the background gave away the secret of the location. The wedding ceremony was held in a local tabernacle and the presiding minister made a special sermon, reminding everyone that "a family that prays together, stays together". The sermon was intense and was attended by numerous church congregants all of whom were devoutly religious. From their participation, it was clearly visible that both Esther and Alfonso was seriously spiritual and very much in love. They exchanged rings and said their vows. The minister blessed them, then announced them husband and wife. Her diamond ring was dainty yet stunning. The glitter of both their rings shouted top notch jewelry designer.

Esther look really beautiful in her Wedding Dress and the bouquet of St Josephs lilies in her hand just completed her role as bride. The groom Alfonso also looked very handsome wearing a tuxedo flanked by his two bestmen in matching attire. The wedding photo shoot took place in the Tygerberg Nature Reserve rose gardens and the entire process was great fun, with laughter and smiles and happiness to go around. Esther's grandmother was so tired that she needed her grandson to carry her and demonstrate to Alfonso how the walk across the threshold should be done.

There was a King and Queen's throne at the dungeon and both Esther and Alfonso looked very comfortable sitting in them. Their subjects looked really happy for them and toasted to the future happiness.  The food they provided was fit for a king and there was so much of it, that second helpings were totally in order.   The food ranged from, "Cream of Crab Soup" to "Butternut soup" to "Tripe and potato curry", to "Noodle and beans salad", to Greek salad with chunks of feta cheese", to "Potato salad" and "Home baked Bread". There was also bain maries filled with "Cottage Pie" to "Cauliflower in white sauce covered in cheese and parsley", to bain maries with "Mutton Curry" and "Mixed Vegetables" and "Pumpkin Stew" and others filled with Denningvleis (Spicy-Meaty Stew). But the the flame roasted "Sheep spit braai" was the "Piece de Resistance" with the guests lining up to get there share. There was alcoholic and non-alcoholic champagne and jugs of fruit juice and soda. Sweets and cakes were everywhere and absolutely nobody went home before they were filled to capacity. The wedding cake was also very novel, made on individual mouth watering chocolates.

The speeches were really exiting and everyone closely related to both the bride and groom divulged some of their secrets. Both Esther and Alfonso's speeches were short but  they said everything there was to say on their Wedding Day. But sunset was the most spectacular and provided the beginning of a perfect scene for the loving couple on their wedding night or their honeymoon night.
