WEDDING DAY AT KELVIN GROVE CLAREMONT

ANIKA & ZAID

The Wedding of Anika and Zaid took place some time ago but due to my  backlog, I was just unable to upload it, however I finally managed to do so.  This was a Spectacular Wedding. It took place at the exclusive Kelvin Grove in Claremont, but let me rather not try to convince you how spectacular it was.

Its best that you take a look at the photographs for yourself. I took in excess of 800 wedding photographs but can only offer you a small sampling on my blog. It was a really nice day  for a wedding eventhough it started raining late afternoon. As a result the photo shoot in Arderne gardens was out of the question. This certainly didn't dampen anyone's spirit. All wedding proceeding carried on as per normal, exactly as the bride expected for her Wedding Day.

The bride  looked absolutely breathtaking in her marvelously brocaded Wedding Dress, especially when flanked by her four bridesmaids each wearing gold earrings and other jewelry items to die for. Each also had an enchanted smile, collectively making each wedding photograph special. Anika's white wedding gown was an absolute marvel.  Her hands were decorated with beautiful henna designs and  her ring finger just stood out.  It carried a Gem of outstanding calibre. It was at least a one carat diamond tension set in Platinum.

There food and beverages were in abundance and the entertainment was magnificent. This beautiful young couple had a celebrity  - Zaid Adams - to entertain the guests, and there were hundreds of them. But nothing was more brilliant than the antique gilded furniture on the stage. It made Anika look like royalty. Zaid her husband had four bestman, each wearing a matching tuxedo and it was hard to tell which one amongst them was getting married. The venue for the morning photo shoot was the plush home of a family friend with balconies and staircases, strain glass and polished wood and very expensive rugs.

WEDDING AT NELSON'S CREEK WINE ESTATE

JOHN & CANDICE

I did a Wedding Photo Shoot on Saturday afternoon in a place called Nelson's Creek. Essentially it is a Wine Estate with bungalows for hire to guests coming to Weddings, should any of them wished to stay over before or after the wedding. I manage Photojani Photographic Studios and I've photographed literally hundreds of weddings on Wine Estates over the past 26 years, but never one at Nelsons creek which is situated on the R44 en-route Wellington.

When I arrived it was cold and windy. Our worry for that day was rain because the  weatherman had predicted rain and even though I never give him any credence, rains clouds were looming. John and his bride Candice were both at the Wine Estate already. She was fitting her wedding dress in one of the rented bungalows and he was parading to and fro outside. I suppose it was his way of not thinking of the butterflies. The church was quaint with seating for about 80 people. The service was short and functional, the confetti was rose petals and there sushi as snack for those who were peckish. The lawn was plush the environment quite and the trees with the mountain range in the background was just an  amazing setting. More or less at the same time, another couple were "tying the knot" in another hall on the Wine Estate.  I saw them riding pass in an open top horse draw buggy and I just needed to get a picture of these to beautiful horses with shin guards on there legs and feathers in their heads. Much later the owner of the estate come over to John and Candice and asked them to mount the buggy saying that this was his Wedding present to them.-

The weather man was right it started to drizzle but it was manageable because it didn't interrupt the photo shoot. By this time the couple was married, kissed and exchanged rings and was gearing up for supper. Both John and his bride Candice were settled and were both very photogenic. It was a small wedding with just one bridesmaid and one best-man. They just happen to be Candice's and John's best friend respectively. At the supper, John's brother was MC and their mom divulged all of John's secrets. His childhood and school going career was the subject of jest. It was great fun, everyone laughed and enjoyed themselves thoroughly. The prawn and hake horsd'oeuvres were really tasty, the main course was splendid with music to match. The table decor was stunning with a complimentary bottle of Nelson's Creek Wine on each table beside the two bottles of champagne one alcoholic, the other not. By the time sun was down the cold started setting in, but it bothered no-one. Much later desert was served. Meanwhile speeches were maid and more photos were taken. Then the Wedding dance began. Below are just a few Wedding Day photos which I wish to share with you.

WEDDING DAY- AN AUSPICIOUS OCCASSION

If you have just stumbled upon my Wedding blog for the first time, I recommend that you start viewing from  "Wedding bells are Ringing" in order to get a good impression of what Wedding photography is all about, especially if you are a bride to be, or even just the girl next door.

Weddings are really cool, especially if you're invited, since your invitation entitles you to a treat by the wedding couple because you special, be you family or just a friend. Depending on the affluence of the occasion depends on the size of your treat. This could mean Breakfast, Lunch and Super including dessert, cake and coffee and could take up your entire day or at times this could mean a visit to the local court as a witness and meeting at a coffee shop afterwards. However, this invitation often come at a cost to you in the form of a wedding gift and even though it is not absolutely necessary, one normally feel obliged to buy one. Often times with Muslim Weddings, the bride and the groom have separate receptions and normally the procedure is that after the Nikkah takes place at a mosque which is only attended by males, a breakfast is hosted for them . Here you can get to see the bride in her morning Wedding Dress and the groom and his best-men in there best attire - in most cases,  three piece tuxedos and ties each wearing a pair of elegant shoes to match.

Normally the brides meets with the groom at this breakfast since they are now married to exchange Expensive Diamond Studded Rings  and wedding bands. Jewelry could range from just gold or platinum rings to gold wrist watches to gold arm chains to gold tiepins to gold earring and gold bangles. If you know your jewelry, this occasion is a treat in self.  Diamonds are a girls best friend and on this day, one just cannot help but notice how many times the bride looks at that gorgeous rock on her finger that she received. (See the worlds most expensive engagement ring)
